This campaign collects personal information only when you give it to us, and only for the reasons set out below.

What we collect. If you contribute, we collect your name, address, email and the amount. Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act requires a candidate to record this for every contribution. If you sign up to volunteer, request a lawn sign or contact us, we collect what you enter on that form.

Why we collect it. Contributor information goes into the campaign’s financial statement, which is filed with the Town and is a public document. Anyone who contributes more than $100 is named in it. That is the law, not a choice this campaign made. Everything else is used to contact you about the campaign and nothing else.

What we do not do. We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not share it with other candidates, parties or organizations. We do not use it for anything unrelated to this campaign.

Payments. Card contributions are processed by Squarespace Payments. Your card details go to the payment processor and are never seen or stored by this campaign.

How long we keep it. Financial records are kept as long as the Municipal Elections Act requires. Volunteer and contact information is deleted after the campaign period ends on December 31, 2026, unless you ask to stay in touch.

Asking to see or remove your information. Email nicholas@colanerifornotl.com and I will tell you what is on file and remove anything the law does not require me to keep.
