Under Ontario law only individuals who live in Ontario can contribute, up to $1,200. No corporations. No unions. Every contribution over $100 is reported publicly, by name.

3% Cover the Fee

Contributions to municipal campaigns are governed by Ontario's Municipal Elections Act. You must be an individual who normally resides in Ontario. Corporations, unions, charities and political parties cannot contribute. The maximum is $1,200 to this campaign, and $5,000 in total across all candidates for Niagara-on-the-Lake council. Contributions are not tax deductible. Anyone contributing more than $100 is named in the campaign's public financial statement.
